Academy Football and the Junior Premier League

Future Football Elite operates a dedicated football academy in Norwich for players aged U9 to U16, competing in the Junior Premier League (JPL) — a development-focused league committed to giving every player a premier football experience.

Our mission is simple: to bridge the gap between grassroots and elite-level football through structured, high-intensity training built on The Six Pillars of Elite Football Mastery. Every session is designed to sharpen technique, boost confidence, and prepare players to perform under pressure.

At Future Football Elite, we don’t just train footballers — we accelerate potential and elevate performance.
In the JPL, 1 in 11 players progress into an English Professional academy

The Junior Premier League are now England’s only National league for youth players from U7 to U18 and are the largest league in the country with over 25,000 players.

Playing environment

The JPL endeavours to create an environment where development comes first. All fixtures take place over four periods of 20 minutes, directly replicating the game time conditions of professional football club academies. In addition to this there is a minimum game time rule – every player selected for a matchday squad must play at least 50% of the game.

Coaching standards

All coaches working in our academy must be a minimum of Level 2/UEFA C to ensure all players receive the best chance of reaching their individual potential.

Unrivalled player pathways

The Junior Premier League has the prestigious award of being the first league to have a player signed to every professional football club academy in the country! Much more progress into high-level non-professional football and college football both here in the UK and abroad.

By being player focused the retention rate for players staying within the game is 97%. This is because players being coached at a higher level means they develop further and therefore can remain in the game at the highest level possible. Compare this to below 60% nationally and you can see the difference the JPL makes.

Junior Premier League Titles and Cups

Since Future Football Elite joined the Junior Premier League in the 2020/2021 season we have won 3 league titles and 1 league cup.

Why the Junior Premier League

With three successful seasons under our belt, our JPL programme offers an unrivalled season-long fixture schedule designed to consistently challenge and elevate player performance.

Many of our coaches bring experience from the Eastern Junior Alliance (EJA), and confidently state that, in our professional opinion, the JPL delivers a more comprehensive and progressive football experience.

Clubs such as Kings Lynn Town, St Neots, and Lowestoft Town all compete within the JPL across U12 to U16 age groups, ensuring a high standard of weekly opposition.

While it’s often said that the EJA offers a pathway into senior football, this route typically ties a player to a single club. In contrast, the JPL exposes players and parents to a wide range of leading local clubs. This allows each player to make an informed decision on the best environment for long-term progression into senior football—based on individual development needs, not team affiliation.

We have complied a document for you to see the main differences between the JPL and EJA.

Having coached teams from grassroots all the way through to professional academy teams, I genuinely believe that the Junior Premier League experience provides players with the most well rounded development opportunity available to them outside of the professional game. The unique mix of high level senior clubs including St Neots, Lowestoft & Kings Lynn Town to name a few, ensure that players are challenged tactically and have to use their football IQ as well as technical & athletic attributes to work out how to be successful. Additionally, there are other clubs whereby the game becomes much more competitive, where athleticism, hunger, desire and grit ultimately ensure success.

This is not something that presents itself on a regular basis at many of the other available football opportunities locally.

Junior Premier League Trial Process

At the end of each season, we open our doors to new talent through structured trials designed to identify players ready to take their development to the next level. These trials give young footballers the opportunity to showcase their ability within our high-performance training environment.

However, if you’re eager to join during the season, you can still register your interest at any time.

We operate with limited squad spaces to maintain the intensity, quality, and personalised nature of our sessions. If space becomes available, a member of our team will reach out to discuss next steps and potential trial opportunities.

Whether you’re applying for our next trial or enquiring mid-season, every player is assessed for their technical ability, attitude, and readiness to thrive within our elite development structure.
